The B2B portal that sells from the ERP itself: AIRCON

Technical filters built from the product data, a price list per customer, and one product record from quote to shipment

AIRCON sells, installs and services climate, refrigeration and ventilation equipment - as two companies, in two countries. This is the story of one layer of that system: the portal its business customers order from.

A shop for consumers is a solved problem. A shop for business customers is not: each of them buys on agreed terms, searches by specification rather than by name, and orders products that the sales team also quotes by hand.

What was in the way

Catalogue and shop apartA price was right in one place and stale in the other.
One shop price for everyoneA plain webshop carries one price list. Business customers do not.
Search by word, not by specA buyer looks for a refrigerant and a temperature range, not a name.

One catalogue, one portal

Business customers order from the same product records the internal team works with - not a copy, not a nightly export.

The whole catalogue page of the AIRCON B2B portal: technical filters down the left side, the price list selector above the grid, and the product listing
The catalogue page at b2b.aircon.bg, reading the same products as the ERP.

Two things in that page matter more than they look. Down the left side the catalogue filters by technical attributes - refrigerant, energy class, cooling type, temperature range, number of doors, blade diameter - because a buyer of refrigeration equipment searches by specification, not by keyword. Those filters are not a hand-built menu: they are the product data itself. Above the grid sits a price list selector, so each customer sees their own terms, because the portal reads the same pricing rules the sales team quotes from.

A product, as a business customer sees it

One product record - the same one the sales team quotes and the warehouse ships.

Ordering is a few clicks and no phone call: quantity, add to cart, or buy now. The SKU on the page is the internal reference, so what a customer orders and what the warehouse picks are the same record - there is no mapping table between a shop and an ERP to keep in step.

The portal also installs as a progressive web app, so a buyer or a technician can put it on a phone home screen and use it like an application.

The portal is one layer. The same database also carries the warehouse, service and repairs, the fleet and credit control, for both companies in Bulgaria and Germany. That implementation is the earlier chapter: Transforming operations with PLANA Business Cloud at AIRCON.

Do your customers each buy on their own terms?

That is where a plain webshop stops. We will look at your catalogue, your price lists and the way your customers actually order, and say plainly what a portal can carry and what still needs a person.
