PLANA among the early members of the Odoo Community Association for 2026

Every year, business software is developing at an increasingly rapid pace. Companies that want to remain leaders understand that success depends not only on the implementation of tools, but also on active participation in strategic ecosystems. PLANA continues to follow this logic by once again joining the Odoo Community Association (OCA) . This year, we are among the first companies to join in 2026. Early membership in the Odoo Community Association is more than just a symbol. What are PLANA, Odoo Community, and Odoo Enterprise?

When a company begins to grow, there usually comes a point when the management tools that were once sufficient start creating more challenges than solutions. This is the moment when most businesses look for an ERP system—not as a luxury, but as a necessary bridge to higher efficiency. Among the most well-known solutions today are Odoo Community , Odoo Enterprise , and PLANA Business Cloud . Each has its place and logic, but the difference comes down to one simple fact: ERP systems are effective only when they are truly adapted to the environment in which they are used. For Bulgarian businesses, this proves to be a decisive factor. Odoo Community: a good start for experimenters, but insufficient for real operations The Community version is valued for its open-source nature and free access.

After a long process of discussion, in mid-2025 the NRA published the final order of the executive director, which describes the structure, format, and procedure for submitting the SAF-T file. ERP Migration to the Euro: A Roadmap for Partners

On 1 January 2026, Bulgaria adopted the euro as its official currency. For every organisation that runs an ERP system for process management, finance and reporting, this is no longer a future event to plan for - it is the environment you operate in today. If your ERP is already running on EUR, the focus now shifts to clean reporting, dual-pricing compliance and closing out the transition period. If you have not migrated yet, it is still fully achievable on a compressed, well-tested timeline. All of our partners now operate in an environment with the EUR as the base currency. Data from the old BGN environment has not been deleted - it remains available for reporting, period-end closing and archive needs. At Plana Solutions we have refined a detailed and flexible strategy for ERP euro migrat

Big companies switch to SAF-T

Bulgarian businesses are facing another important step in the digital transformation process - from 1 January 2026, large taxpayers will be required to submit data to the NRA in an electronic SAF-T format. This became clear from official information published by the revenue agency in early June 2025, marking the beginning of the actual implementation of this international standard in the country. In addition, the public consultation on the project ended at the beginning of this month and all the comments and suggestions received from businesses and professional organizations have already been considered by the administration. This means that the SAF-T regulatory and technical framework in Bulgaria is in its final phase and the process of actual implementation is moving to the next level. A

How Businesses Can Prepare for 2026 and the New Currency?

From 1 January 2026, Bulgaria will introduce the euro as its official currency. This is a long-awaited step in our European integration, but also a serious challenge for business - legal, technological and psychological. Although the fixed lev/euro exchange rate has been in place for a long time, the actual changeover will require a reworking of a number of processes, systems and communications. Beyond the calculator: why this change is significant The changeover is not just a formal conversion of values. It should introduce a new way of thinking. In the second half of 2025, all prices will need to be displayed in both euros and euros. This requirement is not just regulatory - it is intended to prepare consumers - but it is also an opportunity. A product that today costs BGN 9.90 will cost

Synchronisation between ERP and robots - another successful PLANA project

Thanks to hard work and an innovative approach, the Plana Solutions team implemented the first ever full warehouse automation project - entirely through a proprietary ERP integration with autonomous mobile robots. One of the biggest challenges was working with a Chinese manufacturer's system that is not compatible with the default ERP platform. Through intensive communication and custom middleware developed by the Plana team, a fully functional integration was achieved. To date, the multi-acre warehouse can function without human intervention. The robots are controlled remotely and in real time via an ERP system upgraded with Plana development. After a request in the system, the robots move boxes from the shelves to the picking or replenishment areas - accurately, quickly and in sync. In a

SAF-T in Bulgaria: More Transparency & Efficiency

SAF-T, developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), is an international standard for the unified exchange of accounting and tax data. It has already been implemented in countries such as France, Romania and Portugal, where the standard has proven effective in improving transparency and reducing administrative burden. The SAF-T format covers key accounting data such as complete accounting history, invoices, assets, receivables and payables, which are submitted in a standardised XML format. In May 2025, the NRA released
