From 1 January 2026, Bulgaria will introduce the euro as the official currency. This is an event with broad implications for all organisations that use ERP systems for process management, finance and reporting.
Regardless of the implementation method chosen, all of our partners will begin operating in a new environment with the EUR as the base currency from the beginning of 2026. Existing data in the old EUR environment will not be deleted - it will remain available for reporting, period end closure and archive needs.

What is important to know at the beginning?

Useful legal and operational requirements
During the first 17 months (1 month after entry + 12 months double marking, plus 4 months transition) prices must be displayed in euro and euro, in the same font and clearly marked. (Source)
The conversion of values into euros is automatic, at a fixed rate of 1,95583 BGN = 1 EUR. (Source)
Within 12 months BNB and banks will exchange levs into euros without fees or restrictions. (Source)
Contracts in leva remain valid, with values transferred in euros and even rounding rules applied without changing the terms. (Source)
